History
Are you searching for the ULTIMATE outdoor adventure? Then you need to head to the U.S. National Whitewater Center! USNWC opened to the public on 11/4/06 and it’s the official Olympic Training Center for Whitewater Slalom racing. It cost $38 billion dollars to build and the river channels were designed by three time Olympian Scott Shipley. The 2 channels that split around an island of the property are an Olympic-Standard Slalom competition channel and the other is the longer wilderness channel. The recirculating river has 12 million gallons of well water that is cleaned every 24 hours by filtration and ultraviolet system.
