The Fury 325
When you think of dropping 325 feet at 81 degrees, does this sound like something you want to try??? Okay then, head to Carowinds and ride the Fury 325. This roller coaster will have you white knuckling your lap bar the whole ride. Or for your dare devils, let go of the lap bar and throw your hands up in the air, like you just don’t care! This coaster was named the 2016 winner of the Amusement Today’s famed Golden Ticket Award for “Best Steel Coaster”.
NASCAR Hall of Fame
For you NASCAR fans, here sits the the Hall of Fame, jst 20 minutes from the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. You will get to feeling of a curved ife-sized track with all the inclines. You may also experience realistic racing through a simulator or participate in a beat-the-clock pit crew challenge. There are 18 cars on display that have played a important role in the NASCAR history that you can enjoy and view.
U.S. Whitewater Center
This is an outdoor adventurer’s DREAM! When I say it has it ALL….. it does! The US Olympic Training trials take place here for the canoe and kayak slalom. Also, the number of activities are about endless. There is whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, ropes course, hiking, mountain biking, zip lining, and MORE!
The Billy Graham Library
This library is filled with inspiration and tranquility. Billy Graham ws born in Charlotte in 1918 and became a renowned evangelist. There are plent of interactive exhibits, films & stories and guests can retract the Graham family ministry. Since opening in 2007, over 1 million people have visited this remarkable site. A truly moving time is during Christmas. They have a live Nativity scene, live, animals, horse drawn carriage rides, traditional Christmas dinner, and readings of favorite holiday stories.
Reeds Gold Mine
This treasure is located in Cabarrus county, just outside of Charlotte. In 1799, Conrad Reed found a 17 pound gold nugget in a stream while fishing. Today, Reeds Gold Mine is a Historic Landmark. Portions of the tunnels have been restored for the public to explore while they hunt for their own gold.
Levine Museum of the New South
This museum explores the rich history of Charlotte as well as the future with engaging and hands-on exhibits. Two award winning exhibits “COURAGE” and “Changing Places” are both highly recommended to view. Also, the museum was give the highest award by the Federal Government, the National Award for Museum Service. Which is awarded by the Institute of Museum & Library Services.
