As the weather gets warmer and the sun gets brighter, you know that Spring is here! Sure, you can go out and work in the yard, but what fun is that? Here are a few things to do around Lake Norman that are sure to put a smile on your face and some Spring in your step.

The Loch Norman Highland Games
Celebrate the Scottish immigrants who built Mecklenburg County by heading out to the Loch Norman Highland Games Saturday/Sunday April 9-10. Plenty of activities for every age will be included at this event, including bagpipe bands, kilt running, historic reenactments, highland dancing, whiskey tasting, and even axe throwing! Come and enjoy the fun and festivities and celebrate the Scottish Culture at this once-a-year event.
Tickets are available at locknorman.com and range from $8-$25. The event will be held at Historic Rural Hill, 4431 Neck Rd., Huntersville, NC 28078.
2022 ‘Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival
Coming later in the month is the ‘Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival. On April 29th, join artist as they show off their hard work and listen to some live music while enjoying the nice spring weather. There will be plenty of opportunities to purchase some new art for your home and you’ll also be helping local artist by buying directly from them and supporting their talents. There will also be food trucks on site to make sure that you and they people with you don’t get hungry. There will also be plenty of things for the kids to do as the event will include bounce houses and some fun artistically engaging activities to bring out their creative side. The event will be held from 2-8 pm at 19725 Oak Street, Cornelius, NC 28031, you won’t want to miss this!


Earth Jam 2022
Towards the end of the month, the town of Cornelius will be hosting its annual Earth Jam. Come out and enjoy some live music, local breweries, and see products that are working to better the plant. There will also be nature related activities for all ages. Concessions will be available for purchase, so come hungry! Earth Jam 2022 will take place Saturday April 30th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm at Robbins Park (17738 W. Catawba Avenue). Oh, and by the way, its free!
North Carolina Brewers & Music Festival
At the beginning of May, go out to Rural Hill for the 2022 North Carolina Brewers & Music Festival where you can enjoy live music and brewers from around the states. The event will be held May 7th and 8th and will be featuring 11 bands and plenty of North Carolina breweries. Free tasting is available for those 21 and older providing they bring a valid ID. There will also be plenty of local food trucks on site the entire weekend to ensure you never go hungry. Go out and enjoy this event and support local businesses and musicians. This is a once-a-year event that you don’t want to miss.
