Spring Food Truck Rally is one of the many amazing events that Rural Hill is hosting this season. There will be twenty food trucks along with wine and craft beer sales.  With live music, you are sure to have a wonderful time.  A Kids Zone with bounce houses and various games lets the young ones run wild and a hay ride that features beautiful scenic views top off this popular event.

‘Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival (April 6)

The ‘Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival will be held at Old Town Cornelius and it features brilliant local artists, live music, food trucks, craft breweries, and games for the kids! There won’t be just one, but two stages for live bands and performances. Walk down the street and see over 100 local artists showcasing their work, so be sure to bring some money as you may find some pretty unique craftsmanship. Walking creates an appetite, so there will be two different food truck courts ready to satisfy those munchies. The kids will have bounce houses, face painting, and various arts and crafts to participate in.

Loch Norman Highland Games (April 13-14)

Loch Norman Highland Games is a Scottish festival hosted at Historic Rural Hill that everyone can enjoy. Come watch world ranked professional heavy athletes perform in seven traditional Scottish events that include throwing a battle axe, shooting long bows, and throwing weights for distance and height. For the kids, make sure to pick up a passport that allows them to learn about Scottish heritage and traditions by going to tents representing different parts of Scotland. Music and dance performances will also be happening throughout the two-day event.

Celebrate the annual Earth Day Celebration at Robbins Park. Participants of all ages will enjoy free “green” activities including arts & crafts, tree planting demonstrations, nature walks, bluegrass music, picnic baskets from local farm-to-table restaurants, and more! Local businesses will be showcasing their environmentally friendly products and services. We encourage everyone to stop by the event and learn about areas in your life where you can make changes that will be better for you and your community.

If you’re looking for a nice way to spend Sunday evenings, Concerts on the Green in Downtown Davidson should be marked on your calendar. Musicians and bands perform in front of the public library, where you can spread a blanket or set up a comfy chair and listen to great music. NC Brewers & Music Festival (May 11-12)

Paddle 4 Purpose

This event brings together local residents together to have a paddle race while cleaning up the shoreline in Davidson. Whether you’re a professional or amateur paddleboarder, you’ll enjoy the waves while helping out environment. This free race is a preview for a later event, Paddle 4 Purpose, in August. Aloha Paddle Sports will provide kayaks for trash collectors, but don’t forget to bring your own gloves!

Asian Festival & Dragon Boat Race (May 18)

The Asian Festival and Dragon Boat Race at Ramsey Creek Park highlights Asian cultures while having live music and dance performances. The event kicks off with the first round of Dragon Boat Races that attract local and regional teams to the waters of Lake Norman. After the first round is over, stop by the booths showcasing the different cultures and grab a bite of delicious Asian food brought to you by local vendors. After you’ve satisfied your taste buds, watch the Martial Arts demonstration and then take a break from walking around to watch the dance and music contests. The winners will be announced at the end of the event along with the winners of the Dragon Boat Races. Come celebrate diversity with the beautiful community of Lake Norman.

Cornelius Jazz Festival (May 18)

The Cornelius Jazz Festival in Smithville Park is filled with music and fun for everyone. Come listen to the many jazz bands that will be performing, while drinking the area’s local craft beer and munching on the foodie favorites. There will also be activities for the children so there’s something to do for all ages! Money raised at the event will benefit Send-A-Kid-To-Camp at the Lake Norman YMCA.
